Ikuo Nishioka President, CEO and CIO
30 Years of Engineering and Management Experience
Ikuo Nisioka was born in Osaka in 1943. He majored in Communications Engineering at Osaka University, where, after completing his under-graduate degree in 1966, he went on to get his master's in 1969 and his doctorate in 1981.
Nishioka joined Sharp Corporation in 1969 and was in charge of Sharp's Central Computer System Research Center before becoming head of the Computer Section of the Information Systems Division and vice-president of the entire Information Systems Division.
In 1992 Nishioka moved to Intel Japan as vice-president, was promoted CEO in 1993, and served as chairman for two years before
leaving the company in April 1999.
Since leaving Intel Nishioka has taken a leading role in the Ministry of Trade and Industry's ITSSP Project, educating small and mid-size Japanese enterprises about the strategic implementation of IT.
